Early life and Education
She was born on 5 April 1977 in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, England. Currently, she is 44 years old. She is the daughter of Labour Party Members, Philip Charles Creasy, and Corinna Frances Avril. Her father is a trained Opera singer and her mother served as a headteacher of a special needs school. He has an elder brother named Mathew Henry Creasy who is a teacher. Her mother joined the Labour Party because she comes from a very aristocratic family and she describes herself as enormously privileged.
In her early childhood, she grew up in the Manchester suburb of Didsbury. Later her family moved to Colchester. She completed her schooling at a grammar school, Colchester County High School for Girls. She failed her eleven-plus exam, so her family moved to the south. She studied Social and Political sciences at Magdalene College, Cambridge. Further, she completed her Post-graduation from the London School of Economics. In the 1990s, she served as an intern at the Fabian Society.
Political career
In 2002, she was elected as a councilor in Waltham forest and served as Deputy Mayor of the Borough. She served as a mayor from 2000 until 2003.
At the 2010 general election, she was selected from all-female shortlist candidates for Walthamstow and was elected to Parliament in 2011. She joined the front bench team of the Labour party and became Shadow Minister for Crime Prevention. That from 2013 to 2015, she served as Shadow Minister for Business, Innovation, and Skills.
At the 2015 general election, she was re-elected but after the defeat of the Labour party in the elections, she stood in the Labour party Deputy leadership election.
Personal life
She got married to Dan Fox who is a former director of Lab our Friends of Israel. She announced her pregnancy in June 2019, she gave birth to a baby girl in November 2019. She campaigned for better maternity rights for Members of Parliament. During her second pregnancy in February 2021, she challenged the government for plans for better parliamentary maternity leave to government ministers.
