Jenny Chapman Bio
Jenny Chapman another name Jennifer Chapman is also known by the title of Baroness Chapman of Darlington. Since 2021, she has been serving as a British politician and life peer associated with the Shadow Cabinet at the position of a Shadow Minister of State at the Cabinet Office. From 2010 to 2019 she served in the Labour Party as a member of parliament for Darlington.
Early life and Education
Jenny Chapman was born on 25 September 1973 in Surrey England. Currently, she is 48 years old. Airtel a very young age she was moved to Darjeeling and from there she completed her schooling at Hummersknott School. Further, she joined Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College.
In 1996 she completed a BSc degree in psychology at Brunel University. In addition to this in 2004, she studied archeology at Durham University. At the starting of her career, she also served as constituency office manager for Darlington Labour MP Alan Milburn.

Parliamentary Career
In 2009, She was shortlisted as one of four candidates to succeed Milburn as a parliamentary candidate for the Labour party for Darlington in an open shortlist. Then at the 2010 general election, she was elected as Darlington MP. As she became MP, she served as a vice-chair of progress and campaigned to remain in the European Union in the 2016 EU membership referendum. Then in 2011, she was appointed as Shadow Minister for Prisons. She served in that position till 2016. Then in 2016, she became the Shadow Minister for Childcare and Early Years but in the same year, she resigned to that position.
Later she joined the opposition frontbench as Shadow minister for Exiting the European Union. At the 2019 general election, she lost her seat to Conservative Party member and after losing her seat she became Chair of Keir Starmer’s successful campaign. Later she accepted the role of political secretary to Starmer.
In February 2021, she was made Baroness Chapman of Darlington. In June 2021 she was removed as St ramer’ s political director. But later in the same year, she moved to the opposition front bench in a new position established to shadow Lord Frost.
Personal life
In July 2014 Chapman got married to her fellow Labour MP Nick Smith. From a previous marriage, she also has two children.
